I chose chocolate chip cookies because they remind me of my Nana. I don't know what her special ingredient is, but her ones always taste the nicest. She made some for me, back when I first had Zahara in winter 2015, so they'll always have a sentimental spot in my list of favourite sometimes foods. ⠀
⠀
I like this recipe because it's simple, but also because it contains no eggs and I can let Z lick the spoon like a real Mum Hero. ⠀
⠀
Ingredients
⠀
125g Butter⠀
1/4 cup sugar ⠀
3T condensed Milk ⠀
1 cup flour ⠀
1 t baking powder ⠀
Few drops of vanilla essence ⠀
1/2 cup (or the whole packet) of chocolate chips ⠀
⠀
Method
⠀
*turn oven on to 180°C and set aside a lined oven tray ⠀
*Use a beater to cream the butter and sugar ⠀
*Add the condensed milk and vanilla essence and mix until creamy ⠀
*add the dry ingredients and chocolate chips and fold until well mixed. ⠀
*roll into ping pong sized balls and space evenly on the tray. ⠀
* semi flatten balls with a fork ⠀
*bake for 10-12 mins or until golden brown. ⠀
Slightly undercook for a more doughy texture. ⠀
⠀
Once cooked, allow to cool on a rack. Then sandwich them with your favourite Appleby Farms ice cream. Add some sprinkles if you're feeling fancy 🤤⠀
